Orange the World

Orange The World is a global United Nations campaign led by UN Women to end violence against women and girls. It runs from November 25th (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) until December 10th (UN Human Rights Day).

As Inner Wheel Members, we will UNiTE in ACTION to stop violence against women and girls. We embrace the Orange The World campaign.

The problem is HUGE:

1 in 3 women worldwide has experienced physical or sexual violence
Domestic violence and femicide - a global crisis
Nearly 3 in 5 murdered women are killed by partners or family members
The shame that women and girls feel about speaking out after experiencing violence is overwhelming
When they finally speak out, they often face blame instead of support
